These spicy garlic chicken wings inspired by asian flavors are hot, garlicky & crispy! The chicken wings are air fried and are truly packed with garlic flavor. If you are a garlic lover like me, you are in for a treat! I love using bone in party wings for making these, however you can make them with boneless chicken too.
My wing sauce has well balanced flavors - they are not sweet! Every time I make these wings, these disappear in no time!! Might I suggest a few other recipes that I have shared on the blog such as curry chicken wings, sweet tamarind chili wings?

We love chicken wings, who doesn't? Lately, my 12 -year-old has developed a taste for hot and spicy flavors, and these wings have become her go-to after-school snack.
Air frying at the right temperature gives the wings a perfectly crispy skin while keeping the inside juicy and tender. The fiery flavors are reminiscent of Asian-style wings, but without any sweetness.
The heat builds in the best way, leaving your mouth tingling (in a good way!). This recipe is super simple: while the wings cook in the air fryer, you can whip up the spicy garlic sauce. Once they're done, toss them together and serve!
Air Frying Chicken Wings
One simple way to ensure that you get ultra crispy air fried chicken wings is to make sure that when they go inside the air fryer- they are dry! That's it.
Place the raw wings in a bowl and dab dry with a piece of paper towel on all sides.Toss the wings in spices, oil, salt, baking powder (yes!) and cornstarch. Not too much salt (will make them soggy!).
Immediately place in a single layer on the rack of air fryer to crisp up(temperature and timing details in recipe card). Let crisp on one side, flip using tongs and let crisp on other side.
Tip:- Make sure that the wings are not too close or touching each other. I use a 8qt air fryer, in which a pound fits in one go. Work in batches if you have a smaller basket.

How To Make Spicy Garlic Wings Sauce
- While the wings are crisping, make the sauce. In a small sauce pan, combine oil, chilli garlic sauce, sriracha, salt, honey, garlic powder, black pepper powder. Add ½ teaspoon cornstarch.
- Whisk to combine everything.
- Let simmer for 4-5 minutes or until a little bit bubbly on sides.
- Taste and adjust the salt if you wish. Mix in the lemon juice. Spicy garlic sauce for the wings is ready!
- Pour over air fried wings and toss to cover the wings nicely. Serve immediately.
Tips & Notes
- Serve immediately as soon as you toss the air fried wings and sauce else wings will get soggy.
- I usually don't serve any sauce on the side because these are quite saucy however you can serve with ranch if you wish. My kids like fries or cucumbers on the side.
